Just blackened a couple grouper fillets and put a sauted crab cake on top of each, not too shabby, with a glass of Woodbridge Chardonnay.

they are not actually extinct...but $5000 fine for having one in your posession..
i know i'm old...i can still remember the taste of them..breaded and deep fried served with fries and slaw and a nice crusty roll...
they were at every friday church dinner..all the restaurants.....friday fish fries...all you can eat....OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!

My Dad remembers them (I was born in 61, by then they were on the way out)...basically a gray walleye found only in L.Erie....either way, it was overfished into oblivion they say...

I prefer brook trout with a apricot jam glaze, fresh baked parker house rolls with a butter dip, french cut green beans with onions and minced garlic, and a nice cool glass of fresh squeezed lemonaid.
