View Full Version : New betta fish will not eat.

Hi guys, I am new to aquabids/boards and thought someone out there could help me. I have a new betta fish from thailand and he will not eat. The breeder fed him bloodworms. I have tried frozen and freeze dried bloodworms. Also tried different type of pellets, flakes, and bettamin. I even tried to give him some turkey. I would rather not feed him live worms, if I could get away with it. They freak me out. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thank you.

Make sure the water's clean. Warm it (slowly!) to the low 80F's. I know you don't want to feed live foods but, if you can find something that wiggles, at least for an appetizer... hmmm?

try scuds, or adult brine?

Thanks! I bought some live brine shrimp and he ate! First time in 7 days.

Good deal. prolly is the whole live wiggling thing more then anything. Try to keep offereing him the pellet foods both before and after the brine..it will help him/her to adjust and know that its food, just a different kind.
