About Randog

Basic Information

About Randog
A little about me.

I am a twin. #6 out of 7 boys born to the same parents.

I love history. I like to get my historical information from the horses mouth. This means I prefer to read the ancient documents and avoid other peoples takes on events especially if they don't back it up with quotes. I am in the process of getting a degree in Classical Studys with emphasis in Latin and Greek, while minoring in Italian as well. I already have a job promised once I have my poliminary classes out of the way.

I have had aquariums since I was 12 when my mom bought my twin brother and I a goldfish, which inspired my aunt to get a one up on my mom and we got a 10 gallon from her full of fish. We started with trading in our juvi livebearers to local pet stores. From there we have slowly got better at the hobby.

I am now trying to turn my hobby into a business. I spend most of my time as a kid breed what I now consider to be junk. Now I want to breed fish and etc. as professionally as possible.

I want to thank those who help me to learn and gain a better appreciation for the needs of a job well done. A few of those who have been an inspiration to me here on Aquabid are: Plecocaine, RMC, Toomanydogs, Lotsoffish and so many more.

\"It was a dark and stormy night. The next day wasn\'t all that great either. I sat at my desk, contemplating breaking down my 45 for a thorough cleaning. The howling wind and the clatter of rain on the window pane nearly drowned out the knock at the door. I got up from the shadows and pulled back the curtain to see who was at my door. There stood a figure in a heavy rain coat. And oh what a figure. She had been on this route for nearly two months. I loosened my tie and unbuttoned my collar. In her hands was a box. I knew that this had to be the one. I couldn\'t help but think there was something fishy about it and that is just how I like it.

My system for breeding live bearers

by Randog on 11-10-2010 at 11:54 PM
My inspiration for posing his blog was the death of the hope of a favorite strain of mines only female in my posession.

I had a pair of Black Moscow Guppys that I received in an auction of Full Red Guppy auction from Pete "Lotsoffish" Mang. These were from a line that Pete receives from his friend Conrad to sell.

The female was very pregnant. I had her in a 10 gallon tank, within a live bearering birthing chamber that allows the fry to fall through the bottom

The shelves that I plan on using.

by Randog on 11-06-2010 at 01:29 AM
In my two bedroom apartment that I have to share with a roommate, I have to use my bedroom for my fishroom. In effect I have made a fishroom that has a bed in it. In order to make the most of the space i have choosen to build shelves patterened like the ones that Placocaine uses in his fishroom. It will allow for me to have at least 3 levels of 10 gallon tanks with plenty of space for 2 1/2 gallon tanks.
This is a picture of Plecocaine's (I hope he is ok with me using it) which shows the
