They're not too hard if you more or less ignore most of the advice because it mainly revolves around CO2 tanks with lots of light. This is a 55 gal with a bunch of ginga guppies (mostly hiding in this pic). No CO2, just root tabs, plant substrate, moderate light and regular cleaning. Until recently, I had 30-40 tanks like this, we are down to a dozen or so, too time consuming. Not a showpiece, but looks good enough to us.
This is what spending too much time on AB does; it's a fun hobby though!
