http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s318/jellohat/darterFriends.jpg

hoped to keep Epi's with these darter things, but they only just hatched!
so i tossed in a lonely male Aphyosemion ogoense GHP 80-24

they seem to be gettin' along just fine

Re: killies with darters?

Darters are pretty timid (at least mine are). As long as he doesn't chase them off the food, it should be OK.

Edited to add

They look good together though. I was thinking of adding some bluefin killis with mine, maybe?

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, “You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I’m just not close enough to get the job done.” - George Carlin

Re: killies with darters?

To address the original question, I think Epiplatys species would work out great with Darters.  their ecological niches do not overlap, so they should do fine.

Re: killies with darters?

I kept Fundulus Dispar with orangethroat darters for a long time. Once you have a killie that is temperature-wise compatible with darters, the only minor issue I had was that while darters were waiting for the food to sink a little bit, killies would eat them all. If you can keep the killies busy while darters are feeding, it is fine. Or you put a lot of food so everybody goes in a frenzy. No spawning occurred though while they were together.
