Gregg, when the salvinia I sent you starts to spread, put some in the tank with your rice fish.
I use it with mine to give the fry surface cover since they seem to hang out at the surface.
Java moss is good for the adults to spawn in, but you need heavy surface floaters for the fry to avoid the adults eating them, or at least that has been my experience.

I actually put some of that in that tank.Ive got to go scoop out more duckweed though so it has more room to spread.

I had bought some (salvinia) a month ago and my darn albino cories love to eat the crap along with the snails. I had a 30 long filled full of this and now there is about a 1/4 cup of it left. They are little pigs I guess, I feed all my fish at least 4 times a day if not more. It did make some good cover though, it looked really nice, green as green could be. But the flip side is I have over 200+ albino cories now
Whoever said anything is possible obivously never tried to slamming a revolving door

Snails will munch on salvinia, no doubt. I don't keep cories, so was not aware that they would eat it. All my shrimp love to hang out upside down from it and pick at either small organisms I can't see or food particles that get trapped in the mats of salvinia that form on the surface of my tank.

I am officially saying that it will hatch...
I'm pretty much a life long fish dork. I am currently working with trophs, guppies, swords, rams and cores.
Even after all the horrible seasons (not to mention an an O'fer), terrible drafts, and the yearly shattering of my dreams, I'm still a lifelong Lions fan.

So far no apparent changes in the egg.i had to clean the tank today because my fiance tried to feed the Rice fish blood worms cuase I wasnt home to feed them last night.Oh well she meant well.
