New Jersey Trout Fishing was opened up on Wednesday April 1, rather than a week or so later(4/11) to help with the cabin fever we are all suffering with. Governor stressed the need to keep up with the social distancing. While it was a well intention'd idea, it did not take into account the fact the sport and tackle shop are still closed. So
no bait will not be a handy thing. Worms will behard to come by as the ground here was still frozen. Many anglers will be forced to using artificial baits, like spinners and small spoons. Still it was a great idea.
I myself do not go trout fishing till after the stocking programs end in mid May. I fish catch and release anyway,
not a meat fishing guy anyway, Just do not like to eat trout. The flesh is to mushy for my taste.
My son went to Miss. crappie fishing and didn't do real good but caught a few, so far I haven't been in awhile just sitting tight. BUT i'm going stir crazy so i'll be out there soon.
