My Father-in-law had a stroke about a month ago. His right side was weak, He was hospitalized for a few days and sent to rehab. He fell at least 5 times the first week he was there. 2 mornings in a row they called us at 4:45 to inform us they found him on the floor. After the 2nd time they asked permission to allow him to sleep on the floor. Really, the floor? No bed alarms, no railing, no cameras, apparently no supervision. My wife said "No" to sleeping on the floor. He is 93! She asked if they could put mats down by the bed. They said no it's a safety hazard.
Low and behold a little later we were told he had tested Positive for Covid with the quick test and would have to be transferred to a different facility. No symptoms, now in quarantine, limited rehab.
He had been making improvements with the rehab, now he is not doing as well. Wife is very stressed over the whole situation, She is his POA. She has 3 sisters that feel their part in life is to tell her what she needs to do. My wife works full time and is gone from sunup to sundown. All her sisters are retired. Go Figure.
